Which AI Platform Should You Use for Brand Work?
Published: 2026-11-27 • Author: Ivan Turatti
The most useful criterion isn't which model writes best today. It's how much it would cost you to leave. Model rankings turn over every few months; the context you accumulate inside a platform is what actually decides your output quality, and it's the thing that either moves with you or doesn't.
Why "which model is best" is the wrong frame
Two founders using the identical platform get wildly different results, and the variable isn't the platform. It's what they gave it about themselves.
The quality gap between two AI users is almost never a model gap. It's a context gap.
What exit cost actually means
Exit cost is everything you'd have to rebuild if you switched tools tomorrow:
- Your files. Plain text is portable by definition. A proprietary structure is not.
- Your rules. Standing instructions, banned words, structural requirements.
- Your corrections. Months of feedback applied to a system.
- Your workflows. Task definitions you refined.
The test: could you leave in an afternoon?
Keep your brand foundation in plain text files that you own (.md). Then treat every platform as something you load those files into. Switching becomes trivial when a better tool appears.
Building that foundation as portable files rather than a SaaS subscription is what we do at openidea.biz. Check your foundation with the free Brand Foundation Check.
